Mineta is mentioned on page 6 of this very disturbing article

Political Correctness is going to be America's demise no doubt about it

People should be flooding their congressional representatives demanding
Minetas resignation

Yes, I had a similar experience. I was in the 10 item express lane at the
market, and an obviously middle eastern gentleman in front of me had ELEVEN
items !

Frozen in terror, I tried to dial my cell phone without attracting attention.....

The article is indeed alarming. Your attempt at humor/sarcasm is out of
place.

What's out of place is being alarmed just because someone on the Internet
somewhere tells a completely uncorroborated story.

I wouldn't call it out of place - especially here.

In which way other than regarding the mental state of the author?

Well this is rec.aviation.IFR, please tell me how a scared news writer
telling us about the evil bathroom going middle eastern men is in place in
this newsgroup.

If it's on the Internet .. it must be true.

That's nothing compared to the terrifying experience I had. I was in a
market recently when some fellow as blatently American as Timothy McVeigh
was making surreptitious attempts to dial his cell phone, just like the
devices used in the Madrid bombing.

Jeez SFM, how dense are you? It was an airliner right? I'm sure, willing
to bet money, that they filed IFR and there's your connection. Try harder
to keep up ;-)

Did he go to the bathroom at any point during that?

This is hilarious. One can only hope Osama reads it to see what he has
wrought.
